    The Department of Management Studies of Don Bosco Institute of Management Studies and Computer Applications celebrated National Youth Day on 12 January 2017 on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda with great joy and enthusiasm. The program commenced with Prof. Pandurangappa, Principal, DBMSCA addressing the MBA students on Swami Vivekananda’s lectures and writings and hoped it to be a source of inspiration among today’s youth. Prof. Srinivasa M R, Principal, DBIPUC delivered a motivating speech and hoped to generate moral values with enlightenment of inner soul among today’s Youth. Dr. Thriveni Kumari, HOD, Department of Management Studies, DBMSCA addressed the students and appealed to the students to observe the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and his ideals. The students of MBA performed recitations, devotional songs, speeches related to the ideas of Swami Vivekananda while celebrating the birthday of the Swami Vivekananda. The program ended with cultural shows and ethnic day festivity.

    Workshop on Lean Six Sigma

    The workshop commenced with Dr. Srinivas Rao, Executive Dean, gave an introduction to Lean Six Sigma and how it combines the principles of lean enterprise and lean manufacturing with Six Sigma to improve performance and systematically remove waste. The workshop was followed by student’s paper presentation by MBA III semester Ms. Kajol M Jain on Six Sigma- An Overview and Ms. Agnita Samaddar on Six Sigma- An introduction Mr. Shekar Chowdhury gave an introduction to concepts and guidelines for implementing Six Sigma. Mr. Sundara Rajulu introduced the students to the concept outlined the process stages in Six Sigma (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control), along with the Lean toolkit
    Topics Covered: Six Sigma, DMAIC Methodology, Role of Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, White Belt or Master Black Belt, Operational Excellence, Lean, Kaizen, 5s principles, Kanban (scheduling), downtime, poka-yoke (error proofing).
    Key Learning’s: Participants learned with knowledge of both the theories and techniques utilized in Six Sigma environments to build and sustain superior performance. Delivered the groundwork for effective process improvement initiatives.

    Graduation Day for MBA ( Batch 2016)

    The Inaugural function commenced with an Invocation song, lighting of lamp and Welcome address. The Graduation Day event was followed by a motivational speech by the Chief Guest, Shri Gurmeet Singh Hora. The event was addressed by all the dignitaries followed by Oath taking by MBA graduates 2016. Certificates, medals and mementos were distributed to each graduating student of DBIBMS 2016 batch. The Best Paper Presenter award was given to Ms. Anupama and Ms. Astha Shukla of the MBA 2016 batch. The event concluded with Vote of thanks and Group Photo Session.

    Sadbhavana Diwas or Harmony Day or Urja Diwas is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shri Rajiv Gandhi, ex-Prime Minister of India. The program commenced with Sadbhavana Day Pledge taken by all MBA students. The pledge says “I take this solemn pledge that I will work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, region, religion or language. I further pledge that I shall resolve all differences among us through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.” The program concluded by a skit by MBA students on conservation of plants and environment awareness.

    MIME SHOW

    Mime is one of the most ancient forms of theater, in which the actors pantomime a series of stories using only their bodies, without speaking. Too often the butt of ignorant jokes, mime is a vibrant and fun activity for both serious actors and people wanting to have fun with their friends. All you need is your will and a little direction.
    The students performed skits on various themes and Save the girl child is the winning theme. The students and faculties had given a very good feedback on the event.
