Dr. Vidya Bhat is an articulate, qualified english teacher who is able to effectively communicate with students from diverse backgrounds and varying degrees of ability. She is a committed and dedicated professional with a proven ability to teach, motivate and direct students to maximum performance by encouraging a positive and energetic environment, and a self-driven leader with fluent communication and good inter-personal skills. She is well versed in english and communication skills, and provides soft skill training for graduate and undergraduate students. She is also adept at preparing students for group discussions and regularly conducts mock interviews.

Educational qualifications :
Dr. Vidya Bhat has done her M.A. in English Literature from Karnataka University, Dharwad. She did her M.A. on Kannada Literature from Bangalore University. She completed her PhD. from Madras University, Chennai. (Thesis Topic: Communication skills and techniques in Kannada language and literature). She also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Copy Editing and Proof Reading from Indira Gandhi National Open University IGNOU, New Delhi.

Relevant Experiences :
Dr. Vidya Bhat worked as a lecturer in English language and literature in various colleges from last fifteen years. She worked as a resource person in a two day training program at Mindteck India Ltd. She participated in a Workshop on interviewing Skills organized by ODS Business Solutions. She occasionally worked as a guest lecturer at the RIE Bangalore to teach English to foreign students. She conducted a personality excellence program and communication skills workshop for postgraduate students and office workers at the Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore. She participated in a national seminar on “Mutual impacts among major Dravidian Languages” at Madras University. She worked as soft skill trainer to commerce and management students at graduate and post graduate levels.

Academic and Co-curricular Responsibilities and Positions :
Dr. Vidya Bhat is the event co-ordinator of the PU branch of our esteemed institution. She works as an English lecturer in the PU department and ensures that our students receive a strong foundation in the English language. She is also a student mentor for the PU department, and is responsible for various activities related to student mentorship.
