Mrs. Shilpa S G is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science Department having 7 Yrs of Experience in DBIT, Bengaluru. She was post graduated from SIT, Tumkur in the year 2011 with the specialization in Computer Science and Engineering from VTU. She was GATE qualified 2008. She was graduated from SIET, Tumkur in the year 2006. Her expertise in subjects like Database Management Systems, Computer Networks. She uses inculcating new pedagogical approaches to improve the effectiveness of teaching. She emphasise more on pragmatics and practical knowledge. She has achieved distinguished academic results. She encourages students to take up innovative projects to solve day to day societal problems. She presented and published several papers in National and International Conference.

Academic & Co-curricular Responsibilities :
She is very much involved in the academic activities to support the Departmental mission and maintain the functions of Institute. She motivates the students to interact with the industries to know their future platform. She encourages the students to think differently to solve and face the problems or situation. She was involved in research and publishing on outcomes of interventions to enhance student orientation, transition and engagement. Always supportive to overall growth of the students with respective to academics as well as co-curricular activities. She had contributed to teaching and learning and curriculum development. She monitors students’ attendance, their progress, behaviour and achievement as a mentor. She has taken additional academic responsibilities like Mentoring, Project guidance.

She is one of the eminent faculty members in our department to handle basic subjects where strong fundamental knowledge should be imparted to students. She has handled many subjects like DBMS, UNIX System Programming, Wireless networks and Mobile Computing, Computer Networks, CCP, Java and CGI Programming, Principles of Programming Language, Software Testing.

Additional Responsibilities as per NAAC or NBA :
She is coordinating the departmental students mentoring activities as a Mentor Coordinator.
