Dr. J.P. SHUBHA MSc., PhD. is an eminent professor and distinguished researcher of chemistry having 9 years of academic experience and 14 years of research knowledge in the field of Physical Organic Chemistry and Material science. She has successfully completed VTU funded project and currently working for the project funded by VGST, GOK.
She is well versed in handling hi tech equipment like X-ray diffractometer, UV-Visible Spectrometer, IR spectrometer, Flurimeter.

Academic and Co-curricular Responsibilities :
She has been teaching Engineering Chemistry, Engineering Chemistry Lab, Environmental Science for BE students with additional responsibilities as students Mentor, Research coordinator to guide research students for their Doctoral Degree, NBA coordinator, Test Coordinator for internals. She has planted around 20 simarouba gluca plants the campus and conducting studies on extraction of anticancer, anti arthritis drugs. Simarouba oil yields high rated biodiesel on transesterification. Currently she is working for biodiesel production unit in the college premises.

Achievements :
• Dr Shubha is running a project on “Synthesis, characterization and applications of nano metal oxides as photocatalysts for the degradation of industrial color effluents” funded by Vision Group on Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka under the Scheme Seed Money to Young Scientist for Research of Rs 6.00 Lakh.
• She has successfully completed a project entitled “Oxidative decolorization of some dyes with N-halo reagents: Kinetic and mechanistic study” funded by Vishwesvraya Technological University of Rs 2.00 Lakh
• Dr. J P Shubha, Professor, Dept. of Chemistry of our Institution has received “INDIRA GANDHI PRIYADARSHINI AWARD-2013” from National Unity Conference, Delhi for her research efforts in the field of Chemistry having social significance. Her research in the field of degradation of synthetic food dyes will drastically reduce toxicity of effluents. Further, by interacting with rural masses, she brought in the much needed awareness among them about the hazardous effect of these dyes.
• Senior Educator & Scholar award – 2014 from NFED, Tamilnadu for research achievements.
• Dr J.P. Shubha has designed, fabricated and marketed Comfort Grater in 2016.
• Currently she is guiding for 4 PhD students for their Doctoral Degree in the field of catalysis, Kinetics, Material Science, Dye degradation and synthetic organic chemistry.
• Achieved academic excellence by repeatedly securing 100% results in vtu exams and got certificate of appreciation for the same from DBIT, Bangalore.
• Best Paper presaentation Award in 2009 from National Conference on Chemistry at University of Mysore.
