Autocad Lab

AUTOCAD provides you with a basic working knowledge of AutoCAD as you learn to create, print and plot drawings using the latest version of AutoCAD software. Emphasis is on using the software tools and understanding the concepts and techniques you need to use and be productive with AutoCAD.

COURSE OUTCOME
Demonstrate basic concepts of the AutoCAD software.
Apply basic concepts to develop construction (drawing) techniques.
Ability to manipulate drawings through editing and plotting techniques.
Understand geometric construction.
Organizing drawing objects on layers and preparing a layout to be plotted
Understand and demonstrate dimensioning concepts and techniques.
Become familiar with the use of Blocks, Design Center, and Tool Palettes

EXCEL
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application designed to perform basic and complex mathematical computations and functions. In addition to performing arithmetic operations, Excel allows users to create graphical displays of data, forms and pivot tables. It is also routinely used to sort information and assist users in identifying data trends.
OBJECTIVE
To understand the practicality of Excel.
To familiarize oneself with Excel’s basic features.
To develop formulas to simplify calculations.

OUTCOME
perform simple arithmetic calculations for the given data.
Use Excel functions to calculate mean, median, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values.
Create simple graphs and charts.

STAAD PRO
STAAD stands for Structural Analysis and Design. STAAD Pro software is widely used in analyzing and designing structures – buildings, bridges, towers, transportation, industrial and utility structures. Designs can involve building structures including culverts, petrochemical plants, tunnels, bridges, piles; and building materials like steel, concrete, timber, aluminum, and cold-formed steel.
Course Objectives:
To introduce the basics of STAAD Pro Software.
To make the students to analyze and design various structural elements using STAAD Pro.

COURSE OUTCOME
You will know how to complete object-oriented intuitive 2D/3D graphic model generation.
You will know how to take presentation quality printer plots of geometry and results as part of run output
You will know how to perform accurate and numerically efficient bending and principal stresses at nodal as well as user specified points
You will learn how to achieve user-specified design parameters to customize design
You will know how to perform code check, member selection and optimized member selection consisting of analysis/design cycles.
You will know how to design concrete beams/columns/slabs/footings as per all major international codes
