Mr. Rafi Ahmed Z is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Don Bosco Institute of Technology since July 2010. He brings to the table the experience of 7 years in teaching profession. He has received B.E degree in Electricals & Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Engineering affiliated to VTU and M.Tech degree in Power Systems Engineering from Ghousia College of Engineering also affiliated to VTU. He has started the research work in the field of transformer oil in order to improve its breakdown strength under extreme conditions. The work is carried under the guidance of Dr. Mohd Ahmed Zahid Ansari, Head of Department, Ghousia College of Engineering.

Academic and Co-curricular Responsibilities :
Teaching being the primary task, the pedagogy is carefully crafted to achieve efficient and effective learning by the students. Keeping the interest of the students open for learning, the topics to be taught are well researched so that the latest practical applications are imparted. Primary duties of faculty include effective classroom teaching, academic advising and counseling of students as Proctor, participation in departmental committee work and curriculum development as well as other assigned duties such as NBA Co-ordinator for the Departmental NBA activities. Co-ordinator for SPARK-AURA students’ forum & Website Co-ordinator for the EEE Department. Actively participated and co-ordinated the Co-curricular & Extra-curricular activities within campus in cultural (Vismay - College Annual fest) & sports events also as Departmental cultural co-ordinator & Discipline committee member. He has organized national, international conferences and workshops and has also attended number of workshops in the field of Powers systems.

Courses Handled :
Mr. Rafi Ahmed Z shares strong ties with the college since the past 6 years and has handled a number of subjects for both in UG and PG such as Network Analysis, Management & Entrepreneurship, Renewable Energy Sources, Reactive Power Management, Power System Planning, Basic Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Generation, Power System Operation & Control, Transmission and Distribution and Reliability Engineering in Power System. Electronics lab, Control systems lab, Power system simulation lab , High voltage and relay lab, Power Electronics Lab etc.
